This privacy policy (this “Privacy Policy”) governs your use of the website (the “Site”) and mobile application (the “Application” or “App”, and together with the Site, our “Platform”). The Platform was created by Get Harper, Inc. (“Get Harper,” “we,” “us” or “our”) for users (each, a “User,” “you” or “your”) to record conversations with their medical providers, produce transcripts of these conversations annotated with certain publicly-available medical information, and have the ability to easily share their recordings and transcripts with family, friends or others (the “Services”).

This Privacy Policy describes:

INFORMATION WE COLLECT. In connection with your use of the Platform, we collect and store information that you voluntarily provide to us and data related to your use of the Platform. Consent to the collection and use of your information in the manner described in this Privacy Policy will be implied through the download and installation of the App or any other access or use of the Platform.


  • Information You Provide to Us Voluntarily. We collect the following types of information that you provide to us voluntarily when you download and register to use the App or create an account for the Platform through the Site: name, e-mail address, birthday and phone number (collectively, your “Individual Information”). We also ask you to indicate whether or not you are a medical provider. Once you have created your account, you may review, correct, update or change your Individual Information on your account profile at any time or contact us for assistance with making any such changes. To utilize our Services, payment card information may be required, as further described in the section called “WE USE A THIRD PARTY PAYMENT PROCESSOR” below.


  • Recording and Transcripts. Our Platform provides you with the ability to record conversations with medical providers and to produce transcripts of these conversations which are made available to you in the App or the Site. Please be advised that it is your responsibility to inform and obtain consent from your medical provider before you use the App to record your conversation this person. Our Platform also gives you the ability to generate a shareable link or an e-mail link to provide others with access to your recordings and transcripts, or to easily share recordings and transcripts with other users of your choosing from within the App.  Please be advised that these recordings and transcripts are not redacted in any way when stored on our platform and, when you share a link with someone to these recordings or transcripts, or give her or him access to these materials from within the App, this person will have access to all the recordings and transcripts in your account unless you contact us with a request to delete a recording or transcript permanently.


  • Feedback/Support. If you provide us feedback or contact us via e-mail (e.g., for support), we will collect your name and e-mail address, as well as any other content included in the e-mail, in order to send you a reply. If you contact us for support, we may also collect and retain certain technical diagnostic data, e.g., your phone model.


  • Usage Data We Collect Automatically.


  • We may automatically collect information about your access and use of the Platform (collectively, “Usage Data”) that may be identifiable and linked to your Individual Information.


  • Get Harper may partner with select analytics partners (“Analytics Partners”) to Usage Data information about how our Platform is used. You can learn more about our Analytics Partners in the section titled “OUR ANALYTICS PARTNERS” below.




  • Use of Information. We use the information we collect to make available the Services, to manage the Platform and assess its usage, to resolve problems with the Platform, to respond to inquiries from you, to communicate with you about our Services and/or important changes to the Platform, this Privacy Policy or the Terms of Service, to review Platform operations and to improve the content and functionality of the Platform, to address problems with the Platform, to protect the security or integrity of the v, our Users, and our business, and to tailor the Platform to your and other Users’ needs.


  • Retention of Information. We will retain Individual Information and Usage Data indefinitely unless required to delete this data by applicable law; provided that, when you close your account with Get Harper, we will delete your recordings and transcripts within twelve (12) months unless we are required to retain them for a longer period to fulfill a legal requirement or law enforcement need. You may also contact us at at any time to request deletion of your Individual Information and/or your recordings and transcripts.


  • Disclosure of information. We disclose Individual Information and Usage Data as described below; however, we will not sell, rent or lease your Individual Information to any third party. We are not limited in our use of anonymized that does not permit direct association with any specific individual or non-identifiable aggregate information about our users.


  • Service Providers/Affiliates. We may share the information we collect with companies that provide support services to us. These companies may need the information to perform their functions.


  • Acquirors. As with any other business, it is possible that in the future we could merge with or be purchased by another company. If we are acquired, the company that acquires us would have access to the information maintained by us but would continue to be bound by this Privacy Policy unless and until it is amended.


  • Court Orders and Legal Processes. We disclose information, including Individual Information, in response to a subpoena, court order or other comparable legal process.


  • We may also disclose information in order to (i) protect and defend our rights or property, and/or the rights or property of our Users, or third parties, as permitted by law; (ii) to detect, prevent or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues; or (iii) to enforce our Terms of Service.


  • Direct marketing. We may send out marketing communications to our Users to explain exciting developments with our Services or to offer special promotions. We will only use your personal data for such direct marketing if you expressly give us consent to do so. You can always choose to stop receiving newsletters or other communications from us by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of a marketing message. Please understand that if you choose not to receive promotional correspondence from us, we may still contact you in connection with your relationship, activities, transactions and/or communications with us.


OUR TRACKING POLICY.  We do not track users’ activities online before or after they leave our Platform using either the App or the Site.  To learn more about internet-based advertising or to opt-out of internet based advertising, please visit the Network Advertising Initiative website and the Digital Advertising Alliance website.




  • Push Notifications. ; however, please note that doing so may affect our ability to provide you the Services.


  • Uninstall the App. You can stop all collection of information by the App by uninstalling the App. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.


COOKIES AND AUTOMATED TECHNOLOGIES. We and our services providers may use cookies and other technologies to receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with us through your mobile device. As we discuss below, Get Harper works with our Analytics Partners to improve the quality of our Platform and to give you access to more relevant information.  Our Analytics Partners may use session and persistent cookies beacons or other monitoring technologies. OUR ANALYTICS PARTNERS.  Our Analytics Partners provide services that analyze information regarding your use of the Platform and help us to improve the quality and relevance of our Platform and its features. In order to make sure you understand how our Analytics Partners handle your information and how they interact with our Platform, we’ve listed our current Analytics Partners below and shared hyperlinks to their terms and privacy statements. In order to send you our newsletter and other marketing communications, we use third party service providers called Hubspot and Mailchimp.  These service providers help us build contact lists and prepare communications for distribution. Your name and email address may be seen and processed by Hubspot and Mailchimp in order for Get Harper to utilize these tools. We use Amazon Web Services to host the Platform and Google Cloud Platform to process your recordings.  These are HIPAA-compliant tools with strong security to protect your personal information.  We encourage you to read their policies by clicking on the links we are providing for Amazon Web Services’ terms and privacy statement and Google Cloud Platform’s terms of service and privacy policy.


WE USE A THIRD-PARTY PAYMENT PROCESSOR. We use a third-party credit card processor (“Payment Processor”) to process credit card transactions for payment made through the Platform. To make this possible, your name, email address, phone number and amount of your payment are shared via secure (encrypted) gateway with the Payment Processor for the sole purpose of completing any transactions you initiate through the Platform. Please note that your credit card information (number, expiration date, security code, billing address) is provided directly to the Payment Processor and is stored by the Payment Processor and not by us, and as such, it is important to review the Payment Processor’s privacy policy and terms of service to understand their information security practices. The Payment Processor’s privacy policy will apply to the information you provide to the Payment Processor. Our current Payment Processor is Stripe. Stripe’s privacy policy can be accessed here and Stripe’s payment terms can be accessed here. You hereby acknowledge and agree that Get Harper is not affiliated in any way with the Payment Processor and that we have no responsibility or liability for the services provided by the Payment Processor or for the Payment Processor’s acts or omissions. By initiating payments through the Platform, you agree to pay us, through the Payment Processor, all charges at the prices then in effect and any other purchased products and services in accordance with the applicable payment terms and you authorize us, through the Payment Processor, to charge your chosen payment provider.




The security of your account relies on your protection of your mobile device and your password. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your password. You are solely responsible for any and all activities that occur under your account or on your mobile device. You may not share your account password with anyone. We will never ask you to send your password or other sensitive information to us in an e-mail, though we may ask you to enter this type of information the Platform’s interface. If you believe someone else has obtained access to your password, please change it immediately. If you believe that an unauthorized access has already occurred or may occur please report it immediately to  You must promptly notify us if you become aware that any information provided by or submitted to the Platform is lost, stolen or used without permission.


To be clear, we do not (and the Platform does not) store your payment card information, and we do not have direct control over or responsibility for your payment card information. Our contracts with a payment processor that receives your payment card information require them to keep it secure.


We have implemented reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to deter unauthorized access to and use, destruction of, modification of, or disclosure of other personally identifiable information we collect via the Platform. Regardless of the precautions taken by us, by you, or by our third party service providers, no data transmitted over the internet or any other public network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us and you provide all personally identifiable information via the Platform at your own risk.


EFFECTIVE DATE; CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY.  Each time you use the Platform, the current version of the Privacy Policy will apply. Accordingly, when you use the Platform, you should check the "Last Updated" date of this Privacy Policy (which appears at the top of the Privacy Policy) and review any changes since the last version. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes to this Privacy Policy, for example via notifications through the App or by e-mail to the address we have on file for your account.  It may be necessary from time to time for us to modify this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the way we collect and use information or changes in privacy-related laws, regulations and industry standards.


CHILDREN’S PRIVACY. The Platform and our Services are not directed to persons under the age of 18. If you become aware that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at We do not knowingly collect or solicit information from, market to or accept services from children. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to remove such information and terminate the child’s account. 


LINKS TO OTHER SITES. The Platform may make available links to third party websites. The fact that Get Harper has provided a link to a website is not an endorsement, authorization, sponsorship or acknowledgment of affiliation with respect to such website, or with respect to any products, services, information or content on such website.  When you click on a link to any other website or location, you will leave the Platform and go to another website and another entity may collect personal information or anonymous data from or about you. We have no control over, do not review, and cannot be responsible for, these third party websites or their content. Please be aware that the terms of this Privacy Policy do not apply to these third party websites or content, or to any collection of data after you click on links to such third party websites. Not all third party websites allow you to opt out of their tracking and analytics.


NOTICE TO CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS. If you are a California resident, California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits you to request and obtain from us once a year, free of charge, information regarding the disclosure of your personal information by Get Harper to third parties for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes. If you are a California resident, please use the contact information in the “CONTACT US” section below. 


NOTICE TO USERS FROM OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES. You should be aware that the United States and other countries have not harmonized their privacy regulations. Because Get Harper and its servers are located in the United States and our Services are directed toward the United States market, our Privacy Policy has been prepared to comply with applicable United States laws and regulations. By accessing and/or using the Platform and our Services and providing personal information to us you agree to the level of privacy protection set out in this Privacy Policy.


NOTICE TO USERS FROM CANADA.  Canadian citizens, except under circumstances defined by law, are entitled to access their own personal information collected by contacting us using the “CONTACT US” section below.  If you believe that the personal information about you that we have collected is incomplete or inaccurate, please contact us and we will correct the information upon verification of the omission or error and of the identity of the person requesting the change.


GOVERNING LAW. This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts without regard to its rules on conflicts or choice of law. Please note that the Platform is designed for compliance with United States data privacy and security regulations.
